Standard stewardship plan
A standard stewardship plan is the plan for the collection, transportation and disposal of unwanted covered drugs.
- It is financed, developed, implemented and participated in by producers;
- Is operated by the participating producers or a stewardship organization; and
- Approved as the standard stewardship plan
Independent stewardship plan
An independent stewardship plan is a plan other than the standard stewardship plan for the collection, transportation and disposal of unwanted covered drugs.
- It may be proposed by a producer or group of producers;
- If approved, is financed, developed and implemented by the participating producer or group of producers; and
- Is operated by the participating producer or group of producers or a stewardship organization.
Stewardship organization
A stewardship organization is an organization designated by a producer or group of producers to act as an agent on behalf of each producer to develop and implement and operate the standard stewardship plan or an independent stewardship plan.
